Be A Friend, Show You Care
It’s hard work to write a song to order. I’m more used to composing by inspiration,
feeling and fancy. The title was given to me being the theme of a seminar/campaign. Fortunately,
the lyrics came along quite easily. Still, the first version had a melody I was not satisfied
with. So I’ve rewritten the music for this song.
Theme Song for Handicaps’ Welfare Association's Public Awareness Campaign 1996.
Finalist at the 4th Wataboshi Music Festival 1997. (Singapore)
Lyrics:
Take some time to share a smile
Light a moment in my day
Let the cheer upon your face
warm a heart along the way
When you choose to walk with me
Making steps to comprehend
Then through life's storms, raging winds
We will learn to understand
CHORUS:
Come along, hold my hand
Follow me, be a friend
There's a world, where we can be a part
We will sing when nights remain
Sharing laughter in the rain
Can you find it in a corner of your heart...
What a world we can make it all to be
When you show you care,
be a friend to me
With one voice, join in this song
There's a common melody
For a tune which we can find
All in perfect harmony
Reaching out to touch with love
There's a place for you and me
When we start, the wheels go round
Bringing hope for all to see
Repeat Chorus and end
